European Champion 2011

04/08/2011 09:59

I think this was the lightest wind competition I ever been in. I only kited with my Airush race 17 and still had trouble to keep on going. Especially the last day was challenging. With slightly off shore wind it was hard to leave the beach and get to the racing area.
One of the races I had such a big lull that it took me 15 minutes to get to the upwind buoy, which was only 50 meters away from me! But I managed and I finished first.

Ranking Women:
1. Katja Roose (NED)
2. Elena Kalinina (RUS)
3. Deimante Juskeviciute (FRA)

Ranking men:
1. Julien Kerneur (FRA)
2. Olivier Dansin (FRA)
3. Blazej Ozog (POL)
4. Rolf van der Vlugt (NED)

Rolf had some really good races, but was also unlucky in other races. So he just needed some more races and some discards. Still a nice result.
But Rolf and I were unbeatable in the beach volleyball competition! Look at this smash:

It was the first time for me in Poland and I really liked it. Sopot is a really nice city. On the picture below you see the area where the price giving was on sunday:
